U-Space designs, builds, and operates micro- and nanosatellites. Thanks to its cutting-edge technologies, U-Space offers customized, high-performance micro- and nanosatellites, as well as related services.

As part of its activities, U-Space processes personal data. Confidentiality is of paramount importance to U-Space and we are committed to protecting your personal data. 

This privacy policy sets out how and why U-Space processes personal data in accordance with applicable law, as well as the rights of data subjects and how to exercise them.

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time without notice to reflect any changes in our practices and services and/or to ensure our compliance with applicable legislation.

U-Space, as data controller of your personal data, is processing your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

2. Scope of this Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to all customer data, personal data, or other data processed by U-Space. It therefore applies to all servers, databases, and computer systems that process such data, including any device regularly used for email, web access, or other business tasks. Any user who interacts with the company’s IT services is also subject to this policy.

Information classified as public is not subject to this privacy policy.

For the purposes of the Privacy Policy, the following terms have the meanings given below:

“Personal data” means any information that can be used to identify a person, directly or indirectly.
“Processing” means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, whether by automated means or not.

3. Data processing principales

U–Space processes different types of personal data in the course of its activities.

The personal data processed may include name, contact details (email address, postal address, telephone number, etc.), as well as any other personal information that is provided or made available to U-Space.

U-Space main activities in relation to the processing of your personal data are collection, storage, use, deletion, and archiving. 

The purposes of this processing are detailed below:

  • Reviewing your requests for information: processing of personal data entered in the contact form or sent by email, for the purpose of reviewing requests for information.
  • Management of current or potential customers and suppliers: processing of personal data of current or potential customers and suppliers’ staff members for the performance of U-Space’s activities. 
  • Recruitment: processing of personal data of candidates who have applied for a position at U–SPACE or who wish to submit an unsolicited application.
  • Legal requirements: processing of personal data in order to comply with legal requirements and respond to requests from public authorities or courts.

Personal data is processed primarily on the following grounds: consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interest, or legal obligation.

Personal data is retained for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, taking into account the following criteria in particular:

  • The purpose of the intended processing,
  • The categories of data processed,
  • Legal requirements,
  • Applicable contractual clauses,
  • Recommendations from the competent authorities,
  • Industry standards.

Within the framework and for the purposes of U-Space’s activity, personal data is processed on internal servers in France and on external cloud servers located inside and outside the European Union.

In accordance with applicable law, personal data may, in certain circumstances, be shared with, in particular,  1) third-party customers, partners, or suppliers, 2) professional legal and financial advisors, such as lawyers, accountants, and auditors,  3) public authorities, where applicable.

In each case, this transfer is governed by an approved legal instrument, such as standard contractual clauses, binding corporate rules, or data protection agreements, to ensure compliance with applicable legislation. 

5. Your rights

In accordance with Chapter 3 of the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, and the French Data Protection Act No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, data subjects may exercise the following rights (“Rights”) in certain circumstances provided for by law: 

 

  • Right of access: the right to obtain confirmation that your Personal Data is or is not being processed by U–SPACE and, where applicable, to know the nature of the personal data being processed.
  • Right to rectification: the right to rectify or request the rectification of any inaccurate personal data concerning you, in certain specific cases.
  • Right to erasure: the right to request the erasure of your personal data.
  • Right to restriction: the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data, in certain specific cases.
  • Right to data portability: the right to receive the personal data we process in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and/or to transmit this personal data to another data controller, in certain specific cases.
  • Right to object: the right to object to the processing of your personal data, in certain specific cases.
  • Withdrawal of consent to data processing: the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data, insofar as such processing is based on consent. In this case, the processing carried out prior to the withdrawal of consent is not affected.
