Job Responsibilities
As part of its SmallSat development projects, U-Space is hiring an Electronic Design Engineer (M/F). Within the Hardware department, which comprises the Mechanical/Thermal, Equipment & Avionics divisions, you will join the Avionics division to design high-performance, robust electronic solutions for our satellites.
Your main responsibilities will include:
→ Creating schematics and supervising the routing of complex electronic boards (digital, analog, power) by adapting your knowledge of standards to the specific constraints of New Space,
→ Serving as the Architect and technical lead for the EPS functional chain during satellite implementation phases on current programs,
→ Lead critical justification studies, including component stress, failure, worst-case, and reliability analyses,
→ Evaluate the impact of radiation on your designs and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to ensure the targeted lifespan,
→ Apply best practices for component selection to optimize the balance between performance, cost, and robustness,
→ Build prototypes, conduct debugging tests, and handle, modify, and repair your circuit boards to validate your concepts,
→ Define health check test plans and automated acceptance procedures to ensure successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate
Ideal Candidate Profile
You hold a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering and have significant experience in developing electronic circuit boards in demanding environments.
You are proficient in electronic circuit board design and the associated validation processes (WCA, FMECA, Part Stress).
You are passionate about lab work and enjoy prototyping, testing, handling, and troubleshooting electronic circuit boards. Your manual dexterity and practical skills are essential for success at U-Space.
You take full responsibility for your technical choices and the robustness of your designs, from component selection through to in-orbit success.
Rigorous and pragmatic, you apply validation standards to ensure flawless delivery in a demanding industrial context.
You foster teamwork with your fellow electronics engineers and other disciplines (mechanical, thermal, FPGA, RF, software) to ensure the company’s objectives are met.
Agile and innovative, you propose bold solutions and adapt to space-specific constraints to optimize the competitiveness of our products in a rapidly changing market.
Knowledge of embedded software, FPGA, RF, EMC, and/or radiation would be highly appreciated.
Fluency in French and English is essential.
Your knowledge of the space industry, and more specifically of NewSpace, will be highly valued.
