Job description

Joining the technical team, you will work on the development of nanosatellites for various customers (government and commercial). These projects typically begin in Phase B and end with in-orbit delivery of the satellite system. The Radio Frequency and Telecommunications department encompasses the following technologies/equipment: software defined radio, RF transceiver, antennas, GNSS receiver, RF front end.

Your activities will include the following: 

  • Responsible for RF & Telecom subsystems
  • Responsible for specifications, trade-offs, analysis, budgets, V&V
  • You will perform communication system modeling & simulation;
  • Decision-maker for an optimal technical design 
  • Decision-aid in the Assembly, Integration & Tests (AIT) definition of RF subsystems with the AIT responsible;
  • Support commissioning of new spacecraft and ground segment;

More generally, you will also provide support for preliminary studies / calls for tender. 

Short term business trips in France or abroad are to be expected.

This position is eligible for the Secret Spécial France.

Professional experience

You have got at least 5 years in the space industry.

Profile and skills

You have the following training and skills : 

  • Bac+5 degree, in engineering school or university.
  • Thorough knowledge in satellite communications subsystems.
  • Knowledge in Software Defined Radio based on System on Chip.
  • Team player with a sense of responsibility, operational efficiency and good interpersonal and communication skills.

    Additional points if:

  • Strong professional knowledge in signal processing.
  • You have experience in NewSpace and nanosatellites.

      Job description

      You will take on the position of mechanical architect for microsatellites to participate in the development of U-Space products, in direct interaction with different product stakeholders. You will be integrated into the Thermal, Optical, Mechanical, and Mechanism department within the company’s Technical Directorate.

      • Participating in the definition of mechanical and thermal requirements and specification for microsatellite products, in collaboration with the technical team.
      • Integrating all external constraints and satellite components to create a layout.
      • Designing, modeling, and analyzing structures for microsatellites using CAD and simulation software such as Catia and Nastran/NX.
      • Participating in the definition and implementation of environmental tests to evaluate mechanical and thermal performance.
      • Integrating and testing structural satellite models to ensure compliance with product specifications.
      • Collaborating closely with other technical teams (system, electronics, AIT, etc.) to ensure consistent and efficient integration of satellite components.
      • Participating in long-term R&D for microsatellite products.

       

      Professional experience

      You have ideally 5 to 10 years of experience.

      Profile and skills
      • You have the following education and skills:

        • Engineer or university degree, Bac +5, with a dominant focus in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
        • At least 5 years of professional experience in satellite structure design.
        • Proficiency in CAD and simulation software such as Catia and Nastran/NX.
        • Knowledge of materials engineering and manufacturing techniques for space structures.
        • Ability to document and test designs to ensure compliance with product standards and requirements.
        • Ability to work rigorously while respecting high-quality standards.
        • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to propose effective solutions.
        • Ability to work effectively with other technical team members and communicate clearly with project stakeholders.
        • Ability to work independently while being able to ask for help or assistance when necessary.

The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and testing of power electronics components for a novel power chain architecture.

      Your activities will be as follows:

      • Lead the design and development of power electronics components for a novel power chain architecture.
      • Conduct R&D activities to improve the performance, efficiency, and reliability of space power systems.
      • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for space power systems.
      • Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to ensure the successful completion of power electronics development projects.
      • Conduct testing and verification activities for power electronics components and systems.
      • Participate in design reviews to ensure the quality and safety of power electronics components and systems.

      • Be responsible for the specification, definition and design of avionics subsystems.
      • Be responsible for the definition and implementation of the verification and validation process.
      • Participate in design reviews to ensure the quality of electronic systems.
      • Participate in electronic system verification and resolve identified electronic issues during testing.
      • Conduct R&D activities to improve the performance of electronic systems.
      • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for avionics electronic systems.

        Job description

        As part of its nanosatellite production team, U-Space is recruiting a Satellite Equipment Test Engineer. You will interact directly with the production lead and the technical departments to endorse the development and realization of incoming tests that validate the spacecraft equipment before they are integrated into U-Space satellites.

        This position consists in:

        • Define the test setup and procedure for each equipment and develop ground support equipment, automation and data analysis ;
        • Responsible for the realization of incoming tests, performed by you, suppliers, technical engineers or operators ;
        • Lead the establishment and maintenance of U-Space stock management system for equipments, using a commercial software ;
        • Participate in the realization of the assembly, integration and test of demonstration spacecraft ;
        • Participate in the anomaly investigation and resolution for both equipments and spacecrafts ;
        • Support the industrialization of U-Space by defining needs and developing tools according to the industrial road-map.

        You will be responsible for the organization of your activities to carry out the entrusted missions.

        Short term business trips in France or abroad are to be expected.

        This position is eligible for the Secret Spécial France.

        Professional experience

        2+ years experience in space activities or equipment tests is a plus.

        • You have a strong operational efficiency and capability to maintain a schedule,

          Within the technical direction of U-Space, you will take part in satellite flight software developments.

          You will work alongside the U-Space embedded system engineers to develop, test and integrate new functionalities into a generic flight software.

          This position consists of:

          • Developing and validating flight software functionalities in a continuous integration environment
          • Realizing POC for the integration of new software libraries
          • Integrating libraries in flight softwares and validating their integrations on a simulator representative of the satellite hardware
          • Documenting the results of your developments and tests
